Preparing for Your
Template Appointment
The first step in making your countertops is the template. During this visit, our team takes precise measurements of every part of your project, and those measurements are what we use to fabricate your countertops. Accurate measurements are the foundation of a perfect fit, so a little preparation before we arrive goes a long way.
Before your template appointment,
please make sure:
Existing countertops are removed.
Templating with the old tops removed gives the most precise fit and the best long-term durability. If removal isn't practical or you'd like help with it, contact us early so we can talk through options and cost.
Cabinets are permanently installed, level, and aligned.
We can't template cabinets that are more than ¼" out of level. Templating them anyway leads to uneven overhangs and can cause cracked countertops down the road. If you have concerns, check with your cabinet installer or contractor before your appointment.
Plumbing, gas, and appliances are disconnected.
Sinks, faucets, and appliances are on site but not installed.
Farmhouse sinks are the exception. They should be installed and set flush with the plywood before we arrive.
We know how to get in.
Let us know about gate codes, parking, or anything else we should know about getting into your home.
The work area is clear of other trades,
such as painters, drywall, or flooring crews, during your appointment.
A decision-maker is on site or reachable by phone
during your appointment. Every project has small details to confirm, and quick answers keep things on schedule.
